Bobby Van's Grill Opens

The new casual offshoot of Bobby Van's Steakhouse, Bobby Van's Grill, opened today at 1201 New York Ave. NW. Like at its pricier sibling, the chain's signature steaks are available, but the menu also offers lighter fare, such as sandwiches, pastas and salads.

Looking forward to checking it out. Right across the street from my office.

We spent a small fortune for fair food and absolutely the worst service we have ever had anywhere. Our waiter was attentive for about the first ten minutes. When the couple we were expecting joined us they waited fifteen minutes for a drink. Our waiter had one other table that was occuppied. After our friends finished their cocktails we never saw him again until we received our check. If I had not handed him our empty wine glasses when he brought us a second glass and our friends their first drink he wouldn't have taken our empty glasses. The room was filled with staff standing around but the only time we saw a host was when they were seating someone. The dining room needs a lot more supervision than it is receiving.

The food was nothing to write home about but considering the prices it should have been very good. We won't go back.

I had my 30th birthday party in one of the private rooms downstairs. I can't say enough about the staff. The waiters were very attentive and everyone loved the delicious food. I will definitely be going back.
