To Do: Chef Fabio Trabocchi Booksigning

Meet acclaimed Italian chef Fabio Trabocchi on Tuesday night for a booksigning and Italian food tasting at The Curious Grape in Shirlington. The Maestro chef recently published a book, "Cucina of Le Marche - A Chef's Treasury of Recipes from Italy's Last Culinary Frontier," which celebrates the food from the region where he grew up.

Sample traditonal Italian cuisine paired with wines from Le Marche at one of two sessions — 6 and 7 p.m. Each session will begin with a guided tasting and presentation and end with a booksigning and opportunity to chat with the chef.

The event is free, but call 703-671-8700 to reserve a spot.

Chef Trabocchi was recently scheduled (October 29th ?) to appear at Balducchi's in McLean from 1-3pm.

Having dined at Maestro's a number of times, I looked forward to meeting the chef and buying a copy of his book.

Becaasue I was in New York that weekend, I rescheduled my departure get back in time to meet him. My train arrived, I jumped in the car, I drove to Balducchi's and arrived at 2:15pm.

The chef was gone. Yes, he was scheduled to be there from 1-3 but he was "busy" the publisher's rep informed me and left early. I was disappointed and furious for his lack of concern about his (now former) fans.

I hope you all have better luck.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure that was a big disappointment. Maybe he had a legit reason to flee early?
