Five Bites On Friday

It's Friday and that means it's time for five bites. Today's list is from Lucy Melcher, who lets us in on the foods she missed the most when she left DC for grad school.

1. Dolsot bibim bap from Mandu

2. Sigara boregi and a blueberry mojito from Meze

3. Spicy black bean veggie burger wrap from Juice Joint

4. Yellowfin tuna ceviche from Ceiba

5. Shish taouk from Mama Ayesha's (pictured)

Five Bites is a weekly opportunity for Metrocurean readers to share the dishes and drinks they're enjoying around town. E-mail five of your favorites and whether you'd like your name and a picture included to metrocurean AT gmail DOT com.

I second the Dolsot Bibim Bap from Mandu. It's amazing.

I really like Mandu's brunch -- "gimbap (korean rice & seaweed rolls), korean omelet, chive pancakes, fried sweet potato, fruit and a choice of marinated beef, chicken, pork or vegetables and tofu." All on one plate! I was stuffed and happy.

I love how the rice gets crunchy in the dolsot dish.

And brunch? I didn't even realize they served it. Must try it!
