Chef Five Bites: Darren Lee Norris

Darren Lee Norris and his wife, Ari, opened the popular new Kushi Izakaya and Sushi in March at 465 K St. NW. Norris acts as executive chef and recruited several talented Japanese chefs to execute the menu of sushi, kushiyaki skewers and small dishes from the charcoal robata grill. Before launching Kushi, Norris was executive chef of Ridgewells Caterers. He also worked as head chef at China Grille in New York City.
