Chef Five Bites: Violeta Edelman & Robb Duncan

The wife-and-husband team of Violeta Edelman and Robb Duncan are the creators of Dolcezza, the local artisanal gelateria. They now have three stores in Georgetown, Bethesda and Dupont Circle and also sell their amazing flavors at area farmers markets. Many of Dolcezza's ingredients are culled from area farms, resulting in seasonal combinations like blueberry lemon thyme, hot pepper lemon opal basil, and cucumber tarragon gin. I've never tasted a flavor of theirs I didn't like. Here are their bites:

1. Chicken finger platter at Houston’s Woodmont Grill

2. Spicy tuna tartare cones at The Source

3. Kit-Kat dessert from Central Michel Richard

4. A French press and a Caroline chicken sandwich at Tryst

5. Sunday afternoon meal after the Dupont FreshFarmMarket, which always includes: Stony Man cheese from Everona Dairy, heirloom tomatoes from Toigo Orchards, pork blade steaks from EcoFriendly Foods, pork rillettes from Red Apron, fava beans from Next Step Produce, duck confit ravioli from The Copper Pot and Dolcezza gelato

Fuel your appetite with 5 Bites from more than 60 of DC's top chefs.
