Savory Style: The Spirit of Summer

Anthropologie's From the Deep dinnerware, $14-$24

Only a few fleeting weeks remain before the calendar flips to September and that deeply ingrained back-to-school mentality creeps in. Despite the sweltering temperature, I'm clinging to the last days of summer with every bite of a juicy peach, impromptu cocktails in the backyard, and maybe a pickling project or two.

Here, a few kitchen and dining products that capture the spirit of summer, like the aquatic dinner plates pictured above. (Love the octopus tentacles on the tea cup.)

Perfect for preserving summer's bounty, the retro-inspired message says it all. Perfectly Pickled jars, ShopTerrain.com, $8

These berry baskets made from bone china take a farmers market icon and give them a permanent spot in your home. Berry baskets, Home Rule or online at Jayson Home and Garden, starting around $15

I'd decant a cold bottle of rosé into this Greek-inspired pitcher, wrapped in sea grass, for casual backyard drinks. Mykonos pitcher and tumbler, Upriver Home, $8-$22

Handcrafted porcelain Mason jars look great with flowers and even better as glowing lanterns. Kerr Votive Lantern, BranchHome.com, $36
