Restaurant News

• Michel Richard has announced that his newest restaurant Michel
will open later this month in the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner (1700
Tysons Blvd.). The chef has tapped Levi Mezick to oversee the menu of
updated classics (sure to have a touch of Richard's whimsy) like crab
coleslaw, escargot spring roll with basil pesto, roulade of foie gras
with lentils, cheese tater tots, steak frites and duck a l’orange. Also
on the menu: Richard's signature burgers (I die for his lobster burger)
and lemon roasted chicken.

Ba Bay, the Vietnamese restaurant
headed to the Hill, has a chef, reports
City Paper's Tim Carman
. Cousins Denise and Khoa Nguyen have hired
Nick Sharpe, who comes from the kitchen at Sonoma (and a few years back, Maestro with Fabio Trabocchi, who is returning
to DC to open Fiola
).

• Chef
Jorge Pimentel and wife Christine Sarapu will launch the Latin-inspired
Sabor’a Street food truck next
month. Pimentel, a native of the Dominican Republic who has cooked at Mark & Orlando’s, Masa 14 and Commonwealth, plans to serve his version of staples from
the Caribbean, Latin America and Spain, including tacos and arepas,
with a focus on local ingredients. Follow their progress on Twitter @SaboraStreet.

• Ashok
Bajaj's neighboring restaurants Ardeo and Bardeo
are getting a major makeover that includes removing the wall that
separates them, reports
Tom Sietsema
. To create the new joint concept, the restaurants will
close for the first few weeks of November.
