From garden shop to beer garden and barbecue, the corner of 14th and S streets has experienced a nice little transformation.
Standard opened in March serving a streamlined menu of sandwiches, sides and beer.
There's Southern specialties like pulled pork, Carolina coleslaw, fried pickles and hushpuppies, alongside German bratwurst, brisket and kraut.
The small draft beer list is a nice round-up including Bell's Two Hearted Ale, Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier and North Coast Scrimshaw Pils, to name a few.
The majority of the restaurant sits outside in the beer garden, where picnic tables line up on the fenced patio. The tiny building houses the bar and a handful of seats.
