Chef 5 Bites: Kevin Longmire

Kevin Longmire, executive chef of Shab Row Bistro and Wine Bar in Frederick, Md., loves jumping in his car at the end of a hectic shift with fellow staff and food-loving friends to explore the DC area's dining scene. The Culinary Institute of America grad worked with Bryan Voltaggio at Volt before joining Shab Row.
1.Octopus Santorini at Zaytinya. Zaytinya has been my go-to place to eat in DC for years ... I ALWAYS leave happy!
2. "I Bet You Won't Order This Cocktail" at PX. At PX they like to "drink their dinner" so this unbelievably savory cocktail is my "dish" of choice.
3. Fish and chips at Againn. As a seafood lover, I consider fish and chips to be one of my ultimate seafood comfort foods, especially if they're done right.
4. Carolina pulled pork sandwich with Southern greens at Black Hog BBQ in Frederick, Md. This is hands down my favorite lunch spot in Frederick, and I think their pulled pork sandwiches are the best around.
5. Pulpo y Patatas (baby octopus and potatoes) at Tapas Teatro in Baltimore. My ex-girlfriend introduced me to this place, and even though we may not still be together, Tapas Teatro and I still are!
