Burger, Tap & Shake, one of the newest eateries from Passion Food Hospitality, is now open in Foggy Bottom.

A more casual counterpart to the new District Commons, with which it shares a kitchen and keg room, this seat-yourself burger joint offers “chuck by the buck.”

For each of its burgers, BTS grinds Pineland Farms beef chuck and brisket in house before char-griddling it. There's a plentiful array of toppings if diners want to get creative, butcChef Jeff Tunks and his crew also offer signature burgers such as the Southern Comfort, which is topped with pimento cheese, fried green tomato, Vidalia onions and bread and butter pickles ($8). Or there’s the Apache Sweat Lodge topped with fire roasted green chilies, pepperjack cheese, smoked onions and spicy sauce ($8).

Diners can also indulge in hand-cut fries and one of the 20 brews on tap, including Port City Porter, Speakeasy Big Daddy IPA and Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale. And don't forget the malts, shakes and “shaketails” — a shake with an extra booze kick for the grown-ups.
