Farmers Market Season Heats Up

The return of warm weather and longer days means many farmers markets that closed for the winter are ramping up for the season. This Thursday, one of my favorite small markets — the Penn Quarter FreshFarm Market — returns from 3-7 p.m. with new vendors including Gordy's Pickle Jar and Soupergirl

A few more open in April with the biggest pop at the start of May, when 14th & U and Bloomingdale reopen.

Glover Park/Burleith and the Palisades both have farmer's markets, and UDC started holding one last year as well.

Falls Church's Farmers' Market is open year-round. It's still a little thin on produce, but it's been very busy the past few weeks.

Has anyone heard anything about the DC Farmer's Market? Is it ever going to re-open?

If you're talking about the one at 6th St NE, an exciting new local artisan market is coming this fall called Union Market. Similar to NYC's Chelsea Market or San Fran's Ferry Building.
