Get A Preview of Salt & Sundry This Weekend!

Some of you may know I've been cooking up a new venture these past few months. I'm thrilled to announce that my new home shop Salt & Sundry will open this winter inside Union Market, DC's exciting new artisan food destination.

I've been busy scouting out a gorgeous selection of linens, tableware, barware, artisanal foods and home accessories for the shop. My carpenter dad has been crafting incredible, rustic farm tables out of salvaged and reclaimed wood that we'll be selling as well. Can't wait for you to see them.

While I'm working toward an official opening some time this winter, come get a preview of what will be in store at our Holiday Gift Pop-Up this weekend. It'll be a perfect chance to get some gifts crossed off your list early.

The pop-up will be located inside the Salt & Sundry space at Union Market and will kick off Friday at 11 a.m. Get there early for the best selection. We'll be open Nov. 9 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Nov. 10-11 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

We've packed the weekend full of fun. Besides scoring lovely gifts (I won't tell if they're actually for you) ...

• Friday afternoon starting at 5:30 p.m., the fine folks from St-Germain will be serving up complimentary punch inside the shop. Swing by for a glass and good company.

• Saturday and Sunday morning, pastry chef Tiffany MacIsaac will unveil her doughnuts for Neighborhood Restaurant Group's upcoming restaurant GBD (read more on the GOG Blog) for $1 apiece. She'll only have 100 each day, so arrive early to make sure you get a taste. I call dibs on the grapefruit-Campari flavor!

• Sunday morning at 11 a.m., my friends David and Nycci Nellis will broadcast Foodie and the Beast live from the market.

Oh, and Nov. 10 is Crafty Bastards in the market parking lot. So pretty much, we have your weekend covered.
